About Us

The Vision behind our movement

JNAY Workshop was born out of a moment of reflection following the civil war. Witnessing the devastating impact it had on communities in Kismayo, my children and I began working with disadvantaged individuals, offering support through donations of food and money, especially to local orphanages.

However, we soon realised that short-term aid, while essential, wasn’t enough to create lasting change. The money ran out quickly, and the underlying issues remained. That’s when we shifted our focus to long-term solutions — empowering people to become self-reliant through entrepreneurship.

Our mission evolved into helping individuals develop practical skills, gain mentorship, and access the financial support needed to launch and sustain small businesses. We believe that building business knowledge and encouraging independence is the key to long-term stability and success.

Although we charge a small fee to keep the programme sustainable, our students have shown incredible growth and are now applying strong business acumen in their own ventures. We remain actively involved in their journeys, continuing to meet with them regularly for development sessions and ongoing mentorship.

We are proud of the positive feedback we’ve received so far, especially regarding our TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) programmes. This year, our goal is to help launch at least 40 new businesses, and we are well on our way.

At JNAY Workshop, we’re not just teaching — we’re building futures.
